Conference Business
Essential Governance for Our Shared Mission
The Annual Conference serves both as a gathering for worship and connection and as the primary governing body for the Free Methodist Church in Southern California. The business sessions allow us to make decisions together that shape our collective future and advance our shared mission.
During the 2025 Annual Conference, we’ll address several key governance areas that require delegate participation and prayerful discernment. These business elements help us maintain organizational health while focusing our efforts on bringing wholeness to the world through healthy biblical communities.
Delegate Training
Delegates play a vital role in connecting local churches to our regional conference. Through their representation, they ensure every congregation has a voice in our shared governance.
Our comprehensive delegate training resources help both new and returning delegates understand their responsibilities and prepare for effective participation in the Annual Conference.
Standing Rules
The Standing Rules provide the framework for how our Annual Conference conducts its business. These procedural guidelines ensure our governance processes are fair, efficient, and aligned with Free Methodist values.
Delegates and leaders should review the current Standing Rules before the conference and be aware of any proposed changes that will require voting action during our business session.

Board and Committee Nominees
Each year, we select qualified leaders to serve on conference boards and committees. These dedicated individuals help guide our conference’s ministry initiatives, resource allocation, and strategic direction.
The Nominating Committee has prepared a slate of candidates for various leadership positions. Delegates will vote to confirm these nominees during the business session on Saturday, May 17.
Voting Information
The voting process allows delegates to participate in key decisions that shape our conference’s future. For the 2025 Annual Conference, we’ll use a secure electronic voting system for board elections and other business items.
Delegates will receive specific instructions on how to access and use the voting platform during the conference. Technical support will be available for anyone needing assistance.
