When you volunteer, you see conference from a whole new angle. You’ll meet people from across Southern California while making a real difference. Plus, you get free access to the conference during your off-hours and a meal during your shift. Many volunteers tell us they form deeper connections through serving than they would just by attending.
What You’ll Do
Your service directly shapes how people experience Annual Conference. You might direct people to parking spots, check them in, guide them to meeting rooms, hand out lunches, or welcome them to the Ordination Service. Whatever your role, you’ll create a warm, organized atmosphere that helps everyone get the most from their day.
Some positions may have you stationed outside, others inside. Some involve standing for a while, and you might occasionally need to carry items. Let us know about any physical limitations when you sign up, and we’ll find the perfect spot for you.
Volunteer Teams
Morning Team (7:30am - 10:00am)
Our morning crew makes vital first impressions as everyone arrives. We need 8 people: 6 at check-in tables and 2 welcome guides helping folks find their way from parking to the main entrance.
Midday Team (11:00am - 1:30pm)
During lunch and session transitions, we need 6 volunteers: 3 helping distribute boxed lunches and 3 guiding people to their breakout sessions. This team keeps everything flowing smoothly during the busiest part of the day.
Afternoon Team (3:00pm - 4:00pm)
Four volunteers are needed to welcome people to the Ordination Service. This shorter shift runs 30 minutes before and 30 minutes into this special celebration.

Our day runs from set-up at 7:30am through tear-down at 4:00pm, with main activities from 8:00am-3:30pm.
