Celebrating New Ministry Leadership
The Free Methodist Church in Southern California celebrates God’s work in raising up new leaders to guide our congregations and ministries. This page honors those who have completed significant milestones in their ministry journey and will be recognized during Annual Conference 2025. These faithful servants represent the ongoing story of God’s leadership provision from generation to generation.
Eleitino Tuiasosopo
I was 16 years old when I chose to follow Christ. A group of Christian missionaries stayed in our home for about 3 months. I observed their life publicly and privately and they had a joy and satisfaction that was infectious. I was a very unhappy, angry, and lost teenager filled with pride and arrogance. I was mean and rude to my teachers and classmates. I realized I starved for significance and attention that I was willing to get any kind of attention even if it was negative at the expense of teasing and being rude to others. I had a very bad attitude and somehow God used this group of young adult missionaries to show me the love of Christ that I desperately needed. Their life, love, joy, contentment, and peace exploded into my darkness and I repented and surrendered my life to Christ.
How did the Spirit guide you to your current ministry and what has God called you to do through your ministry?
I prayed and fasted and sought the Lord earnestly for my next assignment. I knew that my previous assignment was coming to an end. I helped plant a church in Lancaster, CA and became an associate pastor there. I knew from the start that I was on assignment there and discerned from the LORD that it was going to be for a period of time. I just didn’t know exactly when. After 10 years, I prayed and fasted and the LORD led me to Chapel of Change through a series of events. I currently serve as an associate pastor at Chapel of Change and oversee the Leadership Development and the credentialing process of emerging leaders. I am a teaching and preaching pastor. I teach a weekly virtual discipleship Bible study. I disciple a number of women and couples and young adults. I am also the Samoa Mission coordinator. We plan to take a second wave of missionaries from Chapel of Change to Samoa in 2026.
How did you come to first be involved with the Free Methodist Church and why have you chosen to continue your ministry in the Free Methodist Church?
The first time I heard of Free Methodist is when I had been attending Chapel of Change for about 6 months. I did some research and discovered there wasn’t anything that I could necessarily disagree with in terms of the theological beliefs. Reflecting back on this journey, I realized it was God’s providence that landed me here and I have since embraced my new Free Methodist family. I’m joyfully blessed to be part of this family of faith.
