Greetings from
Special Appointments
Ministry Beyond Church Walls
The Free Methodist Church in Southern California extends its mission through ministers serving in specialized roles beyond local church leadership. These “Special Appointments” represent our conference in educational institutions, chaplaincy settings, nonprofit organizations, and various ministry contexts that reach beyond traditional congregations.
Special appointments expand our conference’s impact by connecting Free Methodist values and vision to unique ministry opportunities. These appointed ministers serve as bridges between our church communities and the broader world, applying our theological foundations in diverse settings.

Special Appointment Ministry Areas
Our specially appointed ministers serve in various contexts including:
- Educational institutions as faculty, administrators, and chaplains
- Healthcare settings as hospital and hospice chaplains
- Military contexts as military chaplains
- Nonprofit organizations addressing community needs
- Parachurch ministries serving specific populations
- Denominational roles at regional and national levels
These ministers bring Free Methodist perspectives to their specialized settings while enriching our conference through their unique experiences and insights.

Greetings and deep, heartfelt love to all of you in the Free Methodist conference. The core values and beliefs of this denomination lineup so beautifully with biblical standards and a Christian worldview! I encourage you to stay involved, serve the Lord with your whole heart and walk in peace together. And most of all, never get weary of well doing! Love, Pastor Angie Colclasure

Pray that the Lord will bring local, State and National leaders to their knees in front of God and that they will surrender to Him and follow His leading in their work for the people.

Greetings from middle Kansas. I continue to work in discipling homeless men and sharing the Gospel with the men who come as guests to the rescue mission in Salina. I have been doing some version of this for 25 years. It seems amazing and I’m so thankful to serve the Lord in this ministry.

Blessings to you! I continue to treasure my participation and membership in the tribe of Free Methodism because there is no better theology out there! Thanks for your prayers as I spend this season in elementary education and high school volleyball coaching.

Dear beloved FMCSC pastors and delegates, As we gather together, may we be reminded that the Spirit who called us is still at work—renewing, restoring, and equipping us for the road ahead. Your faithfulness matters more than you know.
Keep leading with grace, truth, and courage. In a world weary from division and injustice, your presence, your voice, and your love are making a difference. Keep standing for what is right, even when it’s costly. Keep creating spaces where people feel seen, valued, and where the hurting can find healing.
You are not alone. The Spirit of the living God is with us—empowering us to lead with both tenderness and boldness. I’m so grateful to be on this journey with you.

I celebrate the partnership that I and Empowering Lives International have with many of you as pastors and leaders in the So Calif Conference! I want to invite each of you to become a part of this life-changing movement!
Together we have shared a unique and life-changing partnership for over 20 years that can inspire your local church for global impact and bring HOPE to orphans and suffering families across East Africa!
This is more than missions. This is transformation. Through your partnership, your church becomes part of something powerful: You equip—not just give. You heal—not just help. You engage—not just send. Visit empoweringlives.org/fmc to explore more about this powerful partnership.

Greetings Southern California Conference,
Please know that JoAnne and I pray for you often and continue to feel honored to represent our conference alongside the rest of our Free Methodist Family, both nationally and globally. As I champion our Free Methodist Way in the area of Love-Driven Justice, I consistently encounter challenges, encouragement, and hope for the denomination and the communities we are privileged to love and serve. I would love to hear how your local church highlights Justice in your context. I look forward to another year of abiding in Jesus, serving His bride, and loving our communities.

I pray for all Free Methodists in Southern California that we might continue to do the work of our Lord with joy and thankfulness. In Him, Denny Wayman

In a world that continues to be challenging, I pray we all see the smallest of gestures that make a huge impact. Know and love your neighbors. Be a light in your community. Bring encouragement for the young and the old. I am blessed because of our opened hearts that the children seek daily communication from me. Sacrifice precious time to visit the elderly. The impact will change your life. Greetings to each of you in the Name of Jesus.

It seems to me that those of you who actively lead churches in the 2020s are facing challenges that no one in my generation was required to face. You have weathered COVID, had to contend with the general decline of the faith, and have served in an era characterized by an attempt to jettison many or most institutions. You have my admiration, love, and prayers. Blessings!

Hello wonderful FMCSC brothers and sisters! I pray you have all had a blessed year of serving the Lord and spreading the good news of the Gospel as I have. 2024 is behind us, and the end of 2025 looms ahead! Keep Calm and Carry On! Stand firm in the truth of God’s word. Keep abiding in Him and He will abide in you! Hallelujah ! Amen!
